Dr. Hislop is a naturopathic doctor with a clinical focus and passion for women’s health, hormones, stress and digestion. She completed a Bachelor of Science in Food, Nutrition, and Health from UBC, followed by a one-year holistic nutrition certificate from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. In her last semester at UBC, she had the opportunity to live in Swaziland, where she helped develop nutrition lessons for the families of SOS children’s village Siteki. After completing 5 years of nutrition, Michelle’s journey in natural healing took her to Toronto where she attended the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine. Here she earned her Doctor of Naturopathy. In her clinical year, she was selected for the sport’s medicine shift, and worked at both the Robert Schad Naturopathic Clinic and the Queen West Community Health Centre.
Born and raised in Calgary, Michelle grew up playing and continues to play competitive soccer. At the beginning of her lengthy educational stint, she had the opportunity to play for and assistant captain the women’s soccer team at Mount Royal College. Michelle is also an avid runner, yogi, and hiker, and is happiest being active outdoors.
Michelle has a special interest in PMS, period health, fertility, pregnancy, PCOS, endometriosis, cervical dysplasia, uterine fibroids, peri/menopause, acne, stress, and digestive health.
Michelle is a member of the College of Naturopathic Doctors of Alberta (CNDA) and the Canadian Association of Naturopathic Doctors (CAND). She is also certified in facial rejuvenation acupuncture.
